Optometric Assistant/Technician (Posted 01/21/2025)

We currently have a job opportunity for a full-time, friendly and detail-oriented optometric assistant/technician. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, desires to learn about eye care and has a passion for helping others. An Optometric Assistant is similar to a Medical Assistant in that they perform basic tests, support the doctor and directly interact with patients.

Pay: from $17.00 per hour

Benefits include medical and dental insurance, paid time off and paid holidays, retirement plan.

Requirements

High School diploma
Previous medical experience preferred (not required)
Ability to multi-task
Effective communication skills

Must be able to work the following business hours:

Monday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Tuesday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Wednesday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Thursday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Friday: 8:30am – 2:00pm

Responsibilities

Gather patient medical history
Use testing equipment to conduct pre-screening exam (autorefractor, iCare, Optomap, OCT, visual fields, visual acuities, etc.)
Stock required supplies and maintain equipment
Answer telephone
Schedule patient appointments
Collect payment
Verify insurance
Patient check-in/check out
Other duties as assigned
